Human-in-the-loop is the annotator inside the machine — part of every turn, feeding it, correcting it. That’s how I pay the bills right now, and there’s no shame in it.
But human-on-the-loop is the one standing above the cycle: the supervisor, the one who can still reach in and change things. This journal is named for where I’m going, not where I started.
The preposition is a promise I’m making to myself.
